Obituary of Gerarda Ramona Perez

Gerarda "Ramona" Perez, 79, of Jamestown, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday (February 25, 2017) in Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing with her family by her side. She was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on May 13, 1937 the daughter of Luis Hernandez and Providencia Vurgo Known to her friends as "Ramona", she always thought of others first and spread her love by cooking for those she cared about. She enjoyed regular trips to local bingo halls. She was never seen without her perfect manicure and always took pleasure in the company of her great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Jose Perez whom she married on June 13, 1972 in St. James Catholic Church, Spenceglo, N. J., two sons, Martin Hernandez, Falconer and Victor Marcano, Jamestown, two granddaughters, Ericka Mangabang and Cathy Marcano, Jamestown, three great grandchildren, Sophia and Isabella Mangabang and Anthony Moreno, Jamestown. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in New Creation Assembly of God Church. The Rev. William Blair, pastor and Rev. Juan Perez will officiate. The family will be present to receive friends at the church, two hours prior to the funeral service. The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
