Obituary of Mallory Kathleen Betts
Please share a memory of Mallory to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On September 10, 2016, God granted mercy and peace to a weary warrior in a twelve year battle against addiction.
Mallory Kathleen Betts, age 32, of Greenhurst, N.Y. died of a heroin overdose in her mother’s home. Her torment, struggle and unending guilt are now over, and her beautiful and radiant soul has been set free once again.
Mallory was born to Gale and Karen Williams Betts on March 29, 1984 in Jamestown, N.Y. She grew up right on the lake in Point Stockholm, swimming, building forts, playing kickball in the backyard with the whole neighborhood, and masterminding shenanigans and tomfoolery of all sorts.
She graduated from Maple Grove, Class of 2002. Those are many of our fondest memories of days gone by and will remain in our hearts forever.
Mallory Kathleen is survived in death by her thirteen year-old son, Tobin Gale Hagstrom. He, above all else, was her most beloved and cherished achievement in this life. Our family will always get to see her daily through him.
She is also survived by her parents and her two sisters, Courtney Rae Dawson, Lakewood and Peyton Elaine Betts, West Ellicott. Also surviving is her paternal grandmother, Violet Boe Betts and her maternal grandparents, Raemon Williams and Janet Proudman Williams, Jamestown. She is also survived by twin uncles, Robert Betts (with whom she resided) and Richard Betts, Greenhurst, also her Aunt Shirley Betts Anderson, Detroit, Mi and Aunt Kathleen Williams Forster, North Tonawanda, N.Y., twin nieces Sydney and Hayden Dawson and nephew, Hudson Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Arthur Betts and her stepfather, Morgan C. Marks.
Her love of life, her smile and that laugh that was so contagious… will never be extinguished for those who knew and loved her the most. And remember…you never stand so tall, as when you bend over to help someone up who can’t help themselves.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in New Creation Assembly of God Church. The Rev. William Blair, Pastor, will officiate.
Friends will be received for two hours prior to the funeral service in the church.
The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

Comment: My heart has been broken ever since I heard the news of the loss of your daughter. No matter how we loose a child, it is profoundly wrong. A parent should not have to bury their child. Know I am praying for your family everyday and am only a phone call away if you need someone to talk to or cry with.
