Obituary of Dana L. Steiner

Dana L. Steiner, 48, of Jamestown, died at 4:35 p.m. Friday (June 10, 2016) in WCA Hospital. He was born in Rockledge, Florida on February 28, 1968 the son of Dorothy Basinski (Bates) Palmer, Rochester and the late Richard Steiner. Dana had been employed as a roofer for Tack Metal for several years. He loved wood working, the outdoors and his step grandchildren. Besides his mother, he is survived by his fiancée, Karen Kuhn, step father, Thomas Palmer, Rochester, a brother, Daniel Steiner and a sister, Darlene Steiner, Rochester, Step son, Chris Kuhn and his wife, Mariah, Jamestown, step grandchildren, Ethan and Jason Kuhn, Jamestown and Justin Ellsworth, Falconer. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. David Birath of Jehovah’s Witnesses South Congregation will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the funeral service. And you had to push through it To get to the other side. But I'm learning there is no other side. There is no pushing through. But rather, There is absorption. Adjustment. Acceptance. And grief is not something that you complete. But rather you endure. Grief as strong as the moment you first knew Can come out of no where And hit you all over again. Grief is not a task you finish, And move on. But an element of yourself-- An alteration of your being. A new way of seeing. A new definition of self. You are valued and people depend on you and love you. Be the light in someone else's life. Your mission here is not complete.
