Obituary of Dr. Philip Hickox

Rev. Dr. Philip Hickox, 61, of Jamestown, went to be with the Lord at 3:15 a.m. Monday (August 30, 2010) at his residence.
He was born in Jamestown on May 25, 1949, the son of the late Homer C. and Hazel E. Anderson Hickox. Rev. Hickox was a servant and disciple of Jesus Christ for thirty nine years and was the senior pastor of Living Waters Open Bible Church. His devotion to our Lord and his compassion and understanding through caring for people, brought food and clothing to the needy of the community.
He attended Celoron Grade School and was a graduate of Southwestern High School and earned an Associates in Arts Degree at Jamestown Community College. He was also a graduate of The Berean School of the Bible, Springfield, Mo. and earned a Doctorate of Ministry from International Seminary, Plymouth, Fl. and a conferred Doctorate of Biblical Studies from Sun Grove Bible College in Missouri.
Rev. Dr. Hickox was ordained to the ministry by Rev. Dr. Russell Archer of the Open Bible Churches Eastern Division in 1986. He served as President of the Jamestown School of Theology, Chairman of the Chaplaincy Committee of the Mayville County Jail, Chaplain of the Jamestown Jammers, President of Chautauqua County P.F.N.A. and as Northern Allegheny Sectional Representative for the Open Bible Churches, and was a Past President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of North America. He was a part time employee of Kmart.
He is survived by his wife Diane Jaffy Hickox, a daughter Jessica Marie Hickox, Jamestown, a sister Pamela (Stephen) Piazza, Celoron and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a cousin Steve Main.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the New Creation Assembly Church. The Rev. William Blair, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from Noon until the time of the service in the church.
