Sally Calanni Agliolo
Sally Calanni Agliolo, 90, of Emeritus at Lakewood, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday (May 22, 2011) in the WCA Hospital.
She was born in Jamestown on January 22, 1921 the daughter of Carl and Nancy LaSetta Calanni.
Sally was the owner & operator of Sally Jo's Beauty Shop for thirty five years and was a hairdresser until the age of eighty. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She also helped work at the annual St. Joseph Table and the Summer Festival and attended Bible Study.
Sally loved her family and friends and enjoyed socializing.She was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling to visit her family. Her three year old twin great grandsons gave her much joy and she will always be remembered for being there for her family and friends at their time of need.
Sally is survived by a daughter Nancy (James) Ferraro, Brentwood, Tn., a granddaughter Alicia (Bryan) Collins, New Albany, Oh., two great grandsons Samuel George and William James Collins, New Albany, Oh., four sisters Josephine Mazzone and Mary D'Angelo, Jamestown, Carmela D'Angelo, Kenmore, N.Y. and Angeline Hale, Reston, Va., a brother Sebastian Calanni, Guffey, Co..
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph "Dagwood" Agliolo whom she married on November 27, 1948 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on February 9, 2005 and by her step mother Nicolina Calanni and a brother Peter Calanni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services.
An Altar & Rosary Society Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m..
