Josephine Mazzone
Josephine Calanni Mazzone, 93, formerly of Crane St., died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday (February 18, 2012) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Jamestown on January 23, 1919 the daughter of Carl and Nancy LaSetta Calanni.
Jay was formerly employed at Jamestown Veneer and Plywwod and Brigiotta's Farmland.
She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and was very active in working at the annual St. Joseph Table.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Carla) Mazzone, Franklin, Tn., a granddaughter, Nicole (Monte) Rodriguez, Tampa, Fl., two great grandchildren, Jake and Brooke Rodriguez, Tampa, Fl., a brother, Sebastian Calanni, Guffey, Co., three sisters, Carmela D'Angelo, Kenmore, N.Y., Mary D'Angelo, Jamestown and Angeline Hale, Reston, Va., two step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Mazzone, who died on August 29, 1966 and by a brother, Peter Callanni, a sister, Sally Agliolo and her step mother, Nicolina Calanni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. An Altar & Rosary Society Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m..
