Obituary of Catherine Basile Galati

Catherine Basile Galati Catherine Basile Galati, 97, of Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, formerly of 28 Arnold St., Jamestown, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday (January 13, 2012) in the nursing facility. She was born in Jamestown on January 26, 1914 the daughter of Anthony and Sarah Canfora Basile. Catherine was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Kresge's and W.T. Grant Co. for several years, retiring in 1974. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Catherine is survived by a brother, Carl Basile, Voorhees, N.J., two sisters, Josephine (Ross) Parasiliti and Mary Basile, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Galati whom she married on June 29, 1936 in Erie, Pa. and who died on December 5, 1986 and by a sister Clara Enserro. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, will officiate.
