Jean Anderson Espin, 77 of 375 Foote Ave., Jamestown, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday (December 16, 2013) in the WCA Hospital.
She was born in St. Mary’s, Pa. on February 14, 1936 the daughter of G. Arthur and Bertha Selle Anderson.
She was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and was employed as a clerk at Anderson’s Cleaners for thirty years and retired on April 30, 1998. Jean was a life member of the VFW Post#53 Auxiliary and was also a member of the Eagles Club Aerie 2145 auxiliary and the AmVets auxiliary Post#726. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Alison) Espin, two daughters, Deborah Morrison and Michelle (Tony) Carson, Jamestown, four grandchildren, Michael (Jessica)l Morrison, Celoron, Jeremy Morrison, Patrick and Shannon Carson, Jamestown, three great grandchildren, Patience Sandreth and Raymond Carson, Sugar Grove, Pa. and Ethan Morrison, Celoron, a brother, James Anderson, St. Mary’s, Pa., two sisters, Shirley Stauffer, St. Mary’s, Pa. and Patricia Pearson, Emporium, Pa..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Mita” Espin whom she married on September 25, 1958 in St. Mary’s, Pa. and who died on April 8, 2009 and by an infant daughter, Mary Espin who died on October 31, 1963 and by a brother, Thomas Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday in St. James catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701.
