Obituary of Calogera Donisi

Calogera "Lina" Donisi, 81, of the Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday (April 6, 2013) in the nursing facility. She was born in Canicatti, Sicily on June 5, 1931 the daughter of Vincenzo and Anna Carlino Donisi. As a young child, Lina was a seamstress and later owned a bakery in Sommatino, Sicily. She arrived in the United States in 1970 and was a communicate of St. James Catholic Church. She loved to cook and sew and she dearly loved her grandchildren. Lina is survived by two sons, Angelo (Sally) Donisi and Vince (Nicole) Donisi and a daughter Lillian Wilber, eight grandchildren, Lina (Timothy) Scoma, Gioachino "Johnny" Donisi, Rosario Donisi, Antonietta Donisi, Gioachino V. Donisi, David Donisi and Claudia Wilber, all of Jamestown and Royce MacIntyre stationed with the US Air Force in Tampa, Fl., a brother, Joseph (Sue) Donisi and a sister, Maria (Joe) Immordino, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gioachino Donisi whom she married on April 29, 1961 in Sommatino, Sicily and who died on November 25, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received today, Monday, April 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 P.M. .
