Obituary of Angeline Agate Conti

Angeline Agate Conti, 96, of Buffalo, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday (December 25, 2014) in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, NY. She was born in Tortorici, Sicily on May 23, 1918 the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette Franchina Agate. She had been employed as a tailor at JC Penney, Sears and Edwards Menswear and she had also worked at Jamestown Lounge. While living in Jamestown, she was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Angeline enjoyed spending time with her family and her extended family. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking and baking. She is survived by her children, Donna Conti, with whom she made her home since 1990, Buffalo, Araine (Dennis) Koser, Hickory, North Carolina and Anthony (Jeanne Conti) Jamestown, Her grandchildren, Brad Koser, Hickory, N.C., Jennifer (Mark) Parrot, Bluffton, S.C., Richelle (Brenin) Payne, Joelle (Dana) Washer, Jamestown, Stephen (Nikki) Conti ,Fletcher, N.C., great grandchildren, Anna Grace, Emmaline and Zachary Parrot, Bluffton, S.C., Brett & Jacob Payne and Arabella Washer, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vincent Conti whom she married on September 11, 1943 in Jamestown and who died on August 23, 1982, four brothers, Anthony, Charles, Joseph and Sebastian Agate and by a sister, Rose Bellitto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 pm.
