Antoinette“Toni” Schiffito Cusimano, 88, of 258 Camp St., Jamestown, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (October 21, 2014) in the WCA
Hospital. She was born in Jamestown on March 28, 1926 the daughter of Anthony and Mary Brunato Schiffito.
Toni was employed in the office of Marlin Rockwell and had also worked at Dimaio’s Lite House and her last job was as a teacher’s aide at Jefferson Junior High School.
She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and was a volunteer at the annual festival.
Toni will be remembered as a kind and compassionate lady. She encompassed everyone she loved as family and in turn always treated family extra special. She became“Aunt Toni” to many beyond her nieces and nephews. Toni always had a caring hug and warm words to share. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, reading, Scrabble and never missed an opportunity for a “passionate debate”. Toni will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons, Russell T. Cusimano, Portland, Or., Cosmo J. (Amy) Cusimano, Ithaca, N.Y. and William R. (Shannon) Cusimano, Phoenix, Az., grandchildren, Catlin, Mason and Chelsey Cusimano and Nick Boyer, Jimmy and Andrea and by a great granddaughter, Aolani. She is survived by a sister, Nancy Guiffrida, Jamestown, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cosmo “Kakey” Cusimano whom she married on March 29, 1952 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on February 15, 1994 and by a brother, Mike Santo and sisters, Rose and Mary and by a nephew, Frank Guiffrida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m.
