Nancy Gullo Nicastro, 86, of 327 Foote Ave., Jamestown, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday (October 4, 2014) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation. She was born in Jamestown on July 8, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Prinzi Gullo. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Nancy was employed as a sales clerk at the original Learners and also at Plaza Apparel. She had also been employed by the Jamestown Public Schools. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of Chautauqua China Painters Group. Nancy’s favorite saying for her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews was “leave them alone,” as they could do nothing wrong. She enjoyed spoiling them. She especially enjoyed holidays with her family. Talking on the phone and visiting with her best friends, Carm Cirincione, Francis Lunetta and her cousin Mary Zerbo , was one of her favorite pastimes. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nicastro, Jamestown, her grandchildren, David Nicastro, Mission Viejo, Ca. and Emily Nicastro, Jamestown and her daughter in law, Colleen Nicastro, Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Nicastro, whom she married on July 22, 1950 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on April 30, 2010 and by a son, Chuck A. Nicastro, who died on October 12, 2005 and by a brother, Russell Gullo, who died on April 23, 1998. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 in St. James Catholic Church. Her nephew, Rev Joseph Gullo, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Arcade, N.Y., will be the main presider, Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor of St. James Catholic Church and the Rev. Todd Remick, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, will be the concelebrants. Deacon Michael Lemieux, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fredonia, will be deacon of the Word. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m. You may send condolences to the family by visiting www.hubertfuneralhome.com.
