Virginia Bingham, 97, of Heritage Park & Skilled Nursing, died at 4:50 a.m. Monday (June 9, 2014) in the nursing facility. She was born in Meadville, Pa. on August 24, 1916 the daughter of Harry and Mable Norwood Bingham. Virginia was a 1936 graduate of the Traphagen School of Fashion at New York University in New York City. She was a former resident of New York City, Phoenix, Az. And San Diego, Ca. While living in New York City, she was employed at Macy’s. Virginia enjoyed traveling across the country and was a fantastic cook and loved to play the piano. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.. She is survived by two nieces, Yvonne Chriscaden and Cynthia (James) Canfield, Jamestown, two nephews, Richard Bingham, Texas and Steven Thoren Buffalo, Several grand nieces and grand nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Thoren and a brother, Harold Bingham and by a sister in law, Evelyn Bingham and a grand nephew, Ricky Bingham. A private family service will be in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation services is in charge of arrangements.
