Sadie Pintagro Galati, 97, of the Clifton Springs Nursing Home, Clifton Springs, New York, formerly of Weeks St., Jamestown, died Saturday (May 17, 2014) in the nursing facility. She was born in Jamestown on March 29, 1917 the daughter of Santo and Frances Conti Pintagro. Sadie was employed at National Worsted Mills, Automatic Voting Machine and Jamestown Sterling. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters Court of St. Gertrude and was the first honorary member. Mom was caring and loving to her family and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. No one ever left the home hungry. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Vern) Palmer, Rio Rico, Az., two sons, James (Terry) Galati, Lawtons, N.Y. and John ( Linda) Galati, Pittsford, N.Y., grandchildren, Lisa (Kent) Black, Pittsford, N.Y., Dr. James (Lisa) Galati, Scottsdale, AZ., Chris (Rachael) Galati, Gowanda, N.Y., Jeff (Debbie) Chaney, Albany, N.Y., Todd (Marilyn) Chaney, Burbank, CA., Andra ( Jose Luis) Preciado, Rio Rico, AZ., Lance (Debra) Palmer, San Antonio, TX. and Dalia Brown, Las Vegas, NV., great grandchildren, Jack & Joseph Galati, Colby & Carter Black, Onnoh Galati, Shawn & Emma Chaney, Jaret & Isabella Palmer, Joseph, Skyler & Chelsea Preciado & Daniela Rodriguez.. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Galati whom she married on August 30, 1941 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on April 3, 2000 and by two brothers, Sebastian and Ross Pintagro and by two sisters, Sarah Vullo and Mary Andrews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 in Holy Apostles SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis Mende, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. You may leave a condolence to the family by going to www.hubertfuneralhome.com.
