Lawrence “Larry” Yezzi, 88, of Jamestown, NY and formerly of Erie, Pa., passed on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Heritage Green in Greenhurst, NY. Born in Erie, Pa. on October 2 1927, the son of Ferdinando and Clemintina DiNicola Yezzi, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Emidio and Robert Yezzi. Larry is survived by, a brother, Ronald Yezzi of Mankato, MN; Fred (Tammy) and James Yezzi, of Jamestown; Denise Jordan, Lake Ridge, Va.; Lisa Yezzi Fechter and Thomas (Susan) Yezzi from Minnesota; Elsa Damiani Yezzi, Andrea Yezzi Cardinale, and Paul Yezzi from California. Larry will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him, because he touched so many lives. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, and for the understanding and respect shown to all people. He had a deep love for Jesus Christ and was a devout Catholic. While attending Saint Andrews RC Church in Erie, he stayed each day after Mass and provided janitorial services just because he could. In Larry’s earlier years, he was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed ice skating, skiing, bicycle riding, camping, walking on the beaches of Presque Isle State Park, and tidying up at Scott Park. Larry was a lifetime member of the K of C, and donated his time and money to many charitable organizations including Stairways. In lieu of flowers, Larry would appreciate donations to the church or charity of your choice in his name. The Yezzi family would like to express our appreciation to the staff at Heritage Green for being a member of his loving and caring family for the past five years. Their ability to provide comfort, love, and communication, gave all of us comfort, knowing that Larry was in good hands and well cared for. He constantly expressed his satisfaction with their care.
