Charles S. VanGuilder, age 48, of Jamestown, NY passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday August 26, 2015. Chuck was born on July 29, 1967 in Jamestown, NY to the late Charles and Barbara (Johnstone) VanGuilder. He married his lifelong partner of 29 years, Treva (Asel) VanGuilder, on February 10, 2001.
He was a graduate of Southwestern Central School. He worked for Jamestown Roofing, Jamestown Local Union # 210, and later in his career he became a self-employed carpenter, at which he was very talented.
Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing and sports, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He also loved spending time with family and friends and all of his animals. He will be missed by many. Chuck would give the shirt off his back and the food off his table to anyone in need.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Treva VanGuilder; children: Timothy (Jessica) Stappenbeck, Andrew VanGuilder and Chad (Vikki Torres) VanGuilder all of Jamestown; grandchildren: Charlie, Ayden, and Odin VanGuilder, and Paisley Stappenbeck all of Jamestown; sister, Shelly Swan of Jamestown, his close uncle and aunt, Ken and Julia Johnstone of Jamestown; and nephews, Travis Scott of Jamestown and Tyler Scott of Buffalo.
Besides his parents Chuck was preceded in death by an infant brother, Kenneth VanGuilder.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at The Outback Bar on Jones and Gifford Avenue in Jamestown.
