Obituary of May L. Thorn

In memory of our mother, May L. Thorn, who went to be with the Lord at 4:20 a.m. Monday (July 1, 2015) in Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Perry, Indiana on May 14, 1927 the daughter of Russell and Nina Anderson Sprinkle. May had been employed as a waitress and hostess at the former Petrino’s Restaurant and had also been employed as an LPN. May enjoyed socializing with her family and friends, bird watching, bingo and church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, William (Peggy) Thorn, Jamestown and Russell (Sheryl) Thorn, Wellsville, two daughters, Sandra (Ted) Reed, Roswell, New Mexico and Connie (John) Long, Phoenix, Az., fourteen grandchildren, Brandi (Ellis) Hollenbeck, Frewsburg, Kelly (Ivan) Lopez and Thomas (Christy) Thorn, Jamestown, Jason (Heather) Thorn, Erie, Pa., Rusty Thorn, Texas, Adam (Jessica) Thorn, Buffalo, Lisa (Dan) Schroeder, Hill, Indiana, David (Chris) Reed, Agusta, Ga., Troy (Annie) Sager, Raleigh, N.C., Nicole (Johnny) Swinney, Jacksonville, Fl., Ricky Wicks, Dunkirk, N.Y. Luke and Josh Long and William Webb Phoenix, Az., several great grandchildren, a sister, Joyce (Robert) Benedict, Jefferson, Oh. and a brother, Kenneth (Betsy) Sprinkle, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thorn Sr., two brothers, Floyd and Russell Sprinkle and a sister, Helen Petrowski A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (July 7, 2015) in the First Church of God, 291 Falconer,St..The Rev. Mervin Lee, pastor, will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the funeral service. The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
