Obituary of Josephine Foti Pacitti

Josephine “Grandma Jaye” Foti Pacitti, 98, of the Lutheran Home, formerly of Lakewood , died at 10:40 a.m. Monday (June 1, 2015) in the nursing facility. She was born in Jamestown on November 12, 1916 the daughter of Joseph and Concetta Muzzo Foti. Jaye was a foster grandparent at Lakewood Elementary School for over twenty years. She also helped coach youth bowling for twenty five years at the former Ten Pins Lanes. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the choir, the Altar & Rosary Society and the Lakewood Women’s Club. Jaye bowled in several leagues around the area. Jaye loved her family, her friends, her dogs, all children and a good hand of poker. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed every kind of needlework. Jaye made those around her smile. Jaye is survived by two sons, Patrick (Barbara) Pacitti, Fairport , N.Y. and Mark (Debbie) Pacitti, San Diego , Ca., three grandchildren, Patrick Pacitti, Arlington , Va. , John (Brynn) Pacitti, Vienna, Va. And Christopher Pacitti, Newport News, Va., six great grandchildren, Adam John, Kendall Grace and Makenna Brynn Pacitti, Vienna, Va., Christian Reid Pacitti, Newport News, Va. Thomas (Susan) Medina and their children, Mahlia, Maya & Tommy Jr., Temecula, Ca. and Annie Del Rio and her children, Jordan and Mark, San Diego, Ca., a niece, Carol (Peter) Cardinale and a nephew, Joseph Greco, Lakewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Pacitti, whom she married on September 9, 1939 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on December 17, 1969 and by a son, Jon Pacitti, who died in 1971 and a sister, Sara Greco. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Friday (July 3, 2015) in St .James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received in the church for one hour prior to the service. The Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
