Obituary of Josephine Marie Fiorello

Josephine Marie (Raffa) Fiorello, 88, of Gainesville, Florida, formerly of Jamestown, NY died Saturday (May 16, 2015) at her home surrounded, by her children and grandchildren. Her passion was to serve others, which she conveyed by a faithful and unrelenting devotion to her husband, family, children and grandchildren. Josephine was born in Jamestown on January 30, 1927 the daughter of Anthony and Carmella Caprino Raffa. She was the owner and operator, with her husband Dick Fiorello, of Richard’s Lounge and Billiard Parlor. She was previously employed at the former Empire Worsted Mills, National Worsted Mills and Crescent Tool. Josephine was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. Josephine is survived by a son, Richard Charles Fiorello, and three daughters, Josephine Alice Colacci, Susan Ann Borgert (son-in-law Christopher J. Borgert) of Gainesville, FL, and Patricia Marie Fiorello (son-in-law Cliff Hash) of Falls Church, VA., six grandchildren, Josephine Marie Colacci, Golden, CO, John Charles Colacci, Jr., Jacqueline Elyse and Jacob Walter Borgert of Gainesville, FL, Christopher Patrick Borgert, Laramie, WY, and Lauren Cayce Fiorello, Fallbrook, CA. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Fiorello whom she married on November 29, 1947 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on December 5, 1998 and by six brothers, Sebastian “Shushy”, Anthony, Basil, Peter, Joseph and Thomas Raffa and by a sister, Carmella Loewel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m., Wednesday (May 27, 2015) in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 111 South Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.A Christian wake service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (Bobby Pollino Scholarship Fund) 418 Spring St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701.
