I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I lived just 2 doors down from Bill while I was a freshman in college. I remember Bill as being a very authentic and colorful individual. He was a young man who loved music, and lived boldly!
Rest in Peace Brother.

Very sorry to hear of the unexpected accident and passing of my friend, fraternity brother, and one-semester roommate Bill (aka rock n roll) Welch. Bill was definitely an out of the box thinker and one of a kind. His love for music and particularly old style rock n roll defined him, as did his quick wit and tendency to usually buck the norm. I spoke with him on the phone last about 5 or 6 years ago. Martha, if you, or any other family, see my post, I would love to express my condolences directly and learn more. I can be reached by email at johnfmurray@mindspring.com and I will be referring Bill's fraternity brothers to this website to possibly post a note. RIP Rock n Roll Bill!

I was a fraternity brother of Bill's at Loyola New Orleans. I always enjoyed his enthusiasm and love of life. He marched to a slightly different drummer but could always be counted on to him a friend in need. Rest in peace my brother.
