Obituary of Bessie G. Baggiano

Bessie G. Baggiano, 87, of 1342 Newland Ave., Jamestown, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday (May 3, 2015) at her residence. She was born in Jamestown on January 26, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Sapienza Baggiano. She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High school and was employed at J.C. Murphy Co. for thirty-eight years with her last title as an Assistant Manager. She then was employed as a clerk at Geer Dunn for twenty- one years. Bessie was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also one of the founding members of the Lost Neighborhood Project. Bessie enjoyed crossword puzzles, and made scrapbooks for her great nieces and nephews. She was a wealth of family information and would always remember everyone’s birthday and anniversaries. She is survived by her sister, Angeline “Angie” Baggiano, Jamestown, three nephews, Joseph Baggiano, Buffalo, Frank (Julie) Baggiano and Sebastian (Krys) Baggiano, West Ellicott, three nieces, JoAnn (John) Hunter, Allison Park, Pa., Carleen ( (Michael) Gilveski, Penfield, N.Y. and Donna (Pat) Chrest, Bemus Point; ten great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Russo and Josephine Imre and by two brothers, Carl and Frank Baggiano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
