Lisa Volpe Obituary

Lisa Marie Roberts Volpe, 61, of 167 Brad St., Jamestown passed away December

14, 2024 unexpectedly at UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born on December 30, 1962, the daughter of Rita F. Moeller Roberts in

Buffalo, NY.

Lisa was a 1981 graduate of Southwestern Central School and received her degree from Jamestown Business College in 1983.

Formerly, Lisa was employed by Northwest Savings Bank and Marine Midland as a

mortgage broker, Bly Sheffield Bargar & Pillittieri

as a Real Estate Legal Secretary, eventually leaving in 1998 to work for 25

years at the City of Jamestown as the Assessment Clerk and

eventual city Assessor, where she was affectionately known to many of her

customers as "The STAR Lady" until her retirement in January of

2024. While at the city she volunteered as Union President of the CSEA

Chautauqua County Unit 6305 Local 807 CSEA from 2004-2020.

Lisa was a social butterfly. She always knew someone wherever she went. She was wise, she always knew someone for whatever project

you were looking for. She was witty, she was always ready with a joke for

whatever the situation required. But most of all she was kind.

She always offered anyone a sweet smile and a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Aside from spending time with her family and 7 month old puppy, Moose, she

enjoyed dinners with her friends. She was a longtime member of the Southern Tier legal secretaries, served as team parent for many of her daughter's sports teams. Lisa was an excellent gardener, an avid shopper, always looking for the best deals.

Surviving, are her loving husband of 40 years, Thomas Volpe, whom she married

October 27, 1984 at St. James Church, her daughter, Gina Volpe, who was her world, both of Jamestown, NY; Her Mother in law, Mary Volpe, Two brothers George

Roberts(Betsy) of Ohio and Keith Roberts (Laurie) of Onoville,

NY; Sister-in-Law, Marlene Volpe, Brother-in-law, Angelo Volpe (Vicky) both of

Jamestown, NY; Brother-in-Law Anthony Volpe (Jolanta) of

North Port, FL; her Nieces, Elizabeth Roberts of Hamburg, NY; Annabelle Sisson (Ryan)

of Olean, NY; Katie Wright (Tim) of Kentucky; Emily Brown

(Evan) of Ohio and Stephanie Smith (Lee) Of Belgium; her nephews, Michael and Steven

Volpe, both of Buffalo, Ny; and several great-nieces and

nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Rita F. Moeller Roberts, her Sister-in-Law, Barbie Roberts; her Father-in-Law, Angelo "Screech"

Volpe; her Brothers-in-Law, Peter and Charles Volpe.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20th, from 1 p.m. to 3p.m. and 4 p.m.

to 7 p.m. at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home, with a short

service to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Southern Tier Legal Secretaries

Scholarship fund, 2078 Buffalo St. Ext. Jamestown, NY 14701.

Inurnment will be private.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held at a later date.
