Obituary of Steven M Anderson

Steven M. Anderson, 39, passed unexpectedly in his home on July 8, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1984 in Jamestown, NY. He was the only child of the late Rosaila A (Anderson) Bogardus and Robert “Bob” S. Anderson Jr. The family relocated to Vero Beach, FL and later Steven returned to NY in 2013.
Steven graduated high school in Vero Beach, FL. He then studied with Joe Kubert’s Cartooning and Arts. He worked at Swensen Ice Cream Parlor and Sonic in the Vero Beach area. Family was very important to him. The last couple of decades he devoted his life to home healthcare, caring for his grandmother, mother, and most recently his grandfather.
He was an extraordinary artist and often gifted his original artwork to family and friends. He was a passionate Cosplayer at Chautauqua Comics. He created his own unique costumes from carious mediums. He loved entertaining all while promoting his other love, comic books. He was an avid collector of comic books, Pez dispensers, Sci-Fi and movie memorabilia. He was a home theater enthusiast, building his own systems with his loving father. He was also a fervent reader of Sci-Fi, fantasy, and ufology; he enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his father Bob Anderson Jr, his grandfather Robert S Anderson Sr, the sister of his heart Kelly Surrena, his aunts Mary, Sue, Amy (David), and Rosanne, his Uncles Tim and Tom and their families.
Steven is proceeded in death by his grandmother Barbara M. Anderson. A memorial service will be held at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home on Wednesday July 24, 2024 from 6PM-8PM.
