Obituary of Rosella Dufresne
Rosella (Grandma Rose) Maxine Dufresne, 71, of Ashville, NY passed away on June 11, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She fought a short but hard battle with pancreatic cancer.
Rosella was born on August 21, 1952 in Renovo, PA to the late Charles and Shirley Salesman. She graduated from Kane Area High School with honors in 1971. On January 18, 1991 she married her husband James, who survives her.
Rosella, who was fondly nicknamed Grandma Rose, from the years she participated at Love School with her grandchildren starting with the PACT program and helping to bring the PTA back to practice there. She loved spending time volunteering with PTA functions and loved being a part of the PACT Program for many years even after her grandchildren moved up out of the program. Rosella was well known for her fun, vibrant colors that she enjoyed to dye her hair with. From neon pink to rainbow to red, white, and blue, she loved the reactions and compliments she would receive. Her favorite things to do was to be with her family and sitting out by a bonfire making smores and lasting memories.
Besides her husband James, she is survived by her children Rosalie (Kevin) VanGuilder of Ashville, NY and Charles (Page) Snyder of Jamestown, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she had a great integral part of their upbringing, Nicole (Brandyn Weber), Jennifer (Corey Lee), Victoria (Hunter Armeli), Brodie VanGuilder, Alexis Snyder, Aaliyah Asel, Willow Stahl and Brayden Waite. In addition, she was lovingly known as Gigi to her great-grandchildren; Jeremy, Trent, Aratraya, Jamie, Colyn, and Ariella.
Also survived by Rosella is her sister Shirley (James) Ginkel, a sister-in-law Kathy Whittemore and a brother-in-law Tony Dufresne all of Warren, PA.
She is preceded in death by her parents and great grandson Jayden.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held Saturday June 15, 2024 at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home from 1:00PM-3:00PM.
A celebration of life will be held on August 10, 2024 at the Falconer Rod and Gun Club which was originally planned as a tribute party for her amazing life.
