Richard Monfort Obituary
Richard Dale Monfort, 82, of Jamestown passed away at his home on March 14, 2023. He was born on December 13, 1940, to Judson and Carol Monfort. He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School and then went on to earn his bachelor’s from Fredonia State and his master’s from the University of Virginia.
Richard was a self-employed contractor for many years and enjoyed woodworking, traveling, reading and old movies in his spare time. He was also a member of the Viking Lodge, Rod and Gun Club, and the Moose Lodge.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Judson and Carol Monfort and two sisters, Judy Hultgren and Zoe Anne Moller.
He is survived by his four children, Andrew (Josie) Monfort of Jamestown NY, Patrick Monfort of Everett, MA, Jay (Christyne) Monfort of Alburgh VT, and Cheryl Weller, of Jamestown NY, as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
