Obituary of Dorothy M Galati

Dorothy Mae Williams Galati, 95 of 447 Broadhead Ave passed away August 12, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was born March 27, 1927 in Jamestown, NY the daughter of the late John A. Williams and Golda Rudd Williams. Dorothy was the widow of Joseph Galati Sr. whom she married April 3, 1948 and who passed away March 3, 2001. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1945. Dorothy was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Lakewood, Ny. She was a member of the prayer Shawl Group, The Alter Rosary Society and the Marco Polo Club. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She loved playing cards and playing on the computer. In addition to her parents and husband Dorothy was preceded in death by her three brothers, Raymond, Walter and Richard Williams, her 2 sisters, JoAnn Ostrander and Jessie Westfelt, her stepson Vincent Galati, her great great granddaughters, Josephine Mineo and Illiana Hanley, and a son in law, Edward Amore. Dorothy is survived by 3 daughters, Janice (Richard) Jensen of Carlisle, PA, JoAnn (Edward) Amore of Erie, PA and Carmella Hanley of Rotterdam Junction, NY, a son, Joseph (Darlene) Galati Jr. of Jamestown, NY, and a daughter in law, Carol Galati of Tucson, AZ. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Center or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Thursday August 18, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
