Obituary of John D Waltersdorff

John David Waltersdorff, 78, of Jamestown, NY died on April 6, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua with family by his side. He was born March 6, 1944 in York, PA to Richard Henry Waltersdorff and Betty Jane Rupp. John graduated from West York High School in 1962, and Grove City College in 1966. John was proudly self-employed. He owned and operated many ventures throughout his life. Most recently, he owned The Fountain Bowl in Jamestown, NY from the early 1990's until his retirement. In his younger years, John enjoyed hunting and fishing, and kept a boat on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. More recently, he spent his time with friends visiting the casino, shooting pool, or just hanging out by the lake. John is survived by his three children, Michael Waltersdorff, Lori Evans, and Steven Waltersdorff, and three grandchildren Logan Waltersdorff, Mary Evans and Dominique Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Garry R Waltersdorff. The family would like to thank the local EMS providers, and the nurses, support staff, and social workers at UPMC Chautauqua and Tanglewood Manor for the professional and compassionate support they have provided over the last year.
