Roger Vinton, 70 of Jamestown passed away January 27, 2022. He was born July 3, 1951 in Jamestown the son of Roger E. Owen and Jean Houghwot Green. Roger worked for Mason Carving, Francher Chair, and maintenance for Homestead Apartments. He had a terrific work ethic. Roger was a devoted husband to his wife of 38 years, Ruth Lord Vinton. He took the very best care of her right to his last day. He loved people. Roger was friendly to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and was a big joker, he loved to tease people. Roger was a humble soul who will be deeply missed. Roger is survived by his wife Ruth Lord Vinton, his children, Richard Vinton, Jenny Vinton Quackenbush, Jason Vinton and Daniel Vinton, his step children, David Eckstrom, Arthur Bentley and Elizabeth Reindl, his siblings, Darlene (Tom) Stahlman and James Durlin and his sister-in-law, Leonna Houghwot. Also surviving are several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Cassie Bentley and his brother, LeRoy Houghwot. Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. Services will be private. Donations may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative care.
