Obituary of Peggy Marie Atkins

Peggy Marie Atkins (nee Olsen) went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2022 at the age of 91 holding hands with her beloved daughter. She was born August 16th, 1930 in Jamestown, NY. She was adopted by Edgar and Tilly Olsen as an infant. She married Preston Merle Atkins on June 4, 1960 and was married 31 years. Peggy is survived by a son, Stewart Balder and a daughter Valerie (Duane) Gruber. She also has 2 step-daughters, Linda (Karl) Ackley and Nancy (Gilbert) Mattoon. She is also survived by many grandchildren, her closest being Brittan Evans (Samantha Oswalt), Nathaniel (Lacey) Evans, Faith Evans (Aaron Hallowell), William (Nancy) Gruber, Dustin (Michelle) Gruber, Mindy Achey, Tracy Henry and Lisa Kujawa. Also surviving are several great grandchildren and many other family and friends who were very dear to her. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, who passed on August, 8, 1991, a step-son William Atkins and her Daughter-in-Law Sandi Balder. She was a member of the Koinonia Christian Fellowship. She loved her pets and watching the birds out her window. Her greatest joy was seeing her family grow. She was faithful in the Lord every day of her life, using every chance to spread the Word of the Lord. Her favorite saying was, “I Love You More.” Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. There will be a home-warming celebration of life service to be announced at a later date.
