Valerie L Swan, 60 of Jamestown passed away December 27, 2021 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis at UPMC Chautauqua surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 4, 1961 to DeWayne Hart and Shirley Miller.
After graduating from Southwestern High School Valerie attended JCC graduating with a degree in education. She went on to work for the Jamestown Public School System as a paraprofessional.
Valerie was a member of the Eagles, Elks and Red Hatters clubs. She was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan.
Valerie loved her job teaching and being around “her” children. She had a great sense of humor, embracing her nicknames of Chumley and Bullwinkle. She enjoyed crafting, drawing, painting, and being by the ocean. Valerie will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Valerie is survived by her two sons, Christopher Thomas Swan and Paul Douglas Evanczik Jr, her grandchildren, Paul Edward Evanczik, Josephine Luvinia Swan, and Evelyn Anhild Evanczik, her sister, Anna Jones, her nieces, Ciara Shultz, Kolnea Jones, and Korrin Jones. Also surviving is her best friend, Roxann Morse.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pam Knisley.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
