Laurie Bennink, 52 of Jamestown passed away April 8, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. She was born November 26, 1968 in Jamestown NY the daughter of John C. Bennink and Bonnie Dahlbeck Stearns. After earning her nursing degree from BOCES Laurie worked for 25 years as a nurse for Accredited Care, Absolut Care of Westfield, ending her career with Willcare. Laurie enjoyed fishing, crocheting, sewing, and jewelry making. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Laurie’s greatest love was for her daughter and grandchildren. Laurie is survived by her Mother Bonnie Stearns of Lakewood, her brother Michael Bennink of Virginia, her daughter, Cheyanne Thompson, her grandchildren, Hope Thompson and Justin Thompson Hornburg, her longtime boyfriend Kevin Wright of Jamestown, and her best friend who she called her sister, Laurie Barnett. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Laurie was preceded in death by her step father, Gregory Stearns, her Adopted father, John Bennink, her grandparents, Marjorie and Fred A Dahlbeck and Joan and Gordon Strearns, her uncle, Fred R Dahlbeck, and her cousin Destiny Dahlbeck. Calling hours will be held Tuesday April 13, 2021 from 11AM-1PM at Hubert Funeral Home. A private burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
