Obituary of Daniel T Anthony

Daniel T. Anthony, 74, of Gerry, formerly of Marienville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital. Dan was born December 7, 1945 in Punxsutawney, PA, the son of the late Lewis L. and Bertha M. Bish Anthony. Following his mother’s death, Dan was placed in the care of the Gerry Homes Orphanage, where he attended Gerry Elementary School. He later went to a trade school where he developed the skill of baking. He was especially known for his pies and donuts. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Dan prided himself on only driving vehicles manufactured by Ford. He had attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Surviving are his children Laura McComas of Branchland, WV and his son Mark Weaver of Jamestown; his grandchildren: Jacob Patterson, Danny Joe McComas, Michelle (Brian) Tabor, Zoe (Ryan) Kinnaman, Rachael Murray, and Matthew (Angela) McComas; his great-grandchildren: Luna Kinnaman, Azlinn Murray, and Sabrina McComas; sisters, Yvonne Anthony (L. Neil) Storer of Frewsburg, Kathryn R. Anthony Cowan of Kittanning, PA, and Violet P. Anthony (William) Atkins of Jamestown, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his caregivers Dave and Cindy Hall. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brothers: John S. Anthony, George B. Anthony, and Robert W. Anthony; sisters: Twila Anthony Ewing and Dorothy Anthony Rupert; grandparents L. Thompson and Mary Anthony as well as John and Elizabeth Toy Bish. Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Hubert Funeral Home from 12pm to 2pm, with a service to follow. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
