Obituary of Valerie Pintagro

Valerie Jane Pintagro, 67, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on July 13th 2020 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Rochester, NY, to Carl Bettis and Esther Contendo, and grew up in Byron Bergen, NY. Valerie graduated from GCC and McAuley School of Nursing in Batavia, NY, and worked as a nurse at Lutheran Assisted Living Facility and The Resource Center in Jamestown, NY. Valerie married her husband, Fernando Pintagro on December 24th 2001. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, cooking and baking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Valerie is survived by her husband Fernando Pintagro, her children, Brad Bettis (Cori), Kristine Overfield (Niall), Jim Overfield, and Matt Overfield, her grandchildren, Alex, Zarek, Brennan, Alec, Evan, Emily, and Maxwell, her stepmother, Shirley Bettis, siblings, Bruce Bettis, Doris Holzschuh, Keith Bettis, Carl Bettis, and Cheryl Baker, and her sister in law, Josephine Conti. Valerie is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Bettis and Esther Contendo, her stepfather, Joseph Contendo, her grandson, Lincoln, and her brother in law Frank Conti. A Memorial service will be held Sunday July 19th 2020 from 2-4 pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Guests are reminded to wear face coverings and practice social distancing during the service. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
