Obituary of Jose Mantilla

Jose Mantilla, 53 of Jamestown passed away February 4, 2020 at his home. He was born February 20, 1966 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico the son of Virginia MCConaghay and Miguel Mantilla. In his younger years Jose loved to play baseball. Jose worked for 20+ years as a construction contractor in the state of Florida where he fearlessly worked on skyscrapers. Jose was a very hard worker. He had a free spirit and loved to travel. He enjoyed music. His greatest love was his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and helping his parents whenever he could. Jose had a kind big heart. He will be deeply missed. Jose is survived by his parents, Virginia and Lawrence McConaghay, his daughter, Christina (Eduardo) Rodriguez, his grandchildren, Eduardo Rodriguez, Juliana Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Gonzalez, his great grandchildren, Alison Serrano and Jerimiah Serrano, his siblings, Charlie (Susan) Salgado, Lissette (Ken) Williams, and Maria (Kenneth) Porter, and Eddie Melendez, his aunts, Carmen Muniz and Adelina (Daniel) Rivera. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews. Jose is preceded in death by his father, Miguel Mantilla and his grandparents, Adolfo and Hipolita Muniz. Arrangements entrusted to Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be private.
