Obituary of Keith Lane Jones

Keith L. Jones "Jonesy", 66, of West Ellicott, NY passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy battle with his illness. He was born July 30, 1953 in Franklin, PA- the son of the late David L. Jones and Lois A. Jones. Keith graduated from Fredonia High School and attended college at SUNY Fredonia before beginning his career in fabrication. Keith was first employed at General Electric and then finished his career at Cummins Engine Plant after 31 years as a welder and mechanical engineer technician. He prided himself as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. After retirement he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his loved ones and with his friends. Keith loved to be in the outdoors and you could find him at hunting camp or fishing any chance he had. He enjoyed being as active as he was able to be so he volunteered as a director on the board of directors at The Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association for 7 years. He was also a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun, The Celoron Moose, and the local American Legions where he looked forward to spending time and creating memories with his friends. Keith was a very social person and became a beloved friend to everyone he met. Surviving are his loving wife Anna Jones, whom he married June 21, 1986 (West Ellicott, NY); daughter Kolnae Jones of South Dayton, NY; daughter Ciara (Jones) Shults and son in law Kyle Shults of Sinclairville, NY; daughter Korrin Jones of West Ellicott, NY; granddaughter Remmy Shults of Sinclairville; sister Linda Jones of Lady Lake, FL; two sister in laws Valerie Swan of Jamestown, NY; Pam Hart of Franklinton, NC; one niece Kayla Hines (Franklinton, NC); and five nephews Dawson (Sharon) Jones of Sinclairville, NY; Sean McCartney of Ilion, NY; and David Jones of Jamestown, NY; Paul Evanczik Jr. of Clymer, NY, and Christopher Swan of Jamestown, NY. Keith was preceded in death by his father David L. Jones, mother Lois A. Jones, brother David Jones, mother in law Shirley A. Hart, and nephew Cody Knisley. Arrangements entrusted to Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. There will be no funeral or visiting hours, as per Keith's wishes.
