Steve Ward Clements of Jamestown, NY departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at his residence. He was born September 19, 1949, in Pittsylvania County, VA to Lewis Clements and Mary Anne Taylor Clements. Steve graduated from Northside High School, Gretna, VA in 1968, he was a member of the marching band where he played the trumpet. Upon graduation from high school. Steve enlisted in the US Airforce and served honorably for 8 years, during the height of the Vietnam War. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Anne Taylor Clements of Jamestown, NY, three sisters, Geneva Pinckney (York) of Danville, VA, Melody Prunty of Jamestown, NY, Tiffany Prunty of Buffalo, NY, three brothers, Lewis Clements Jr. of Rocky Mount, VA, Claude Prunty of Buffalo, NY, Lee Ward Prunty of Roanoke, VA and a host relatives and friends. After serving in the miliary, Steve settled in San Bernadino California. There he worked for the Federal Government as an Airial Photographer for many years. He loved reading, poetry, photography, music, travel and fishing. Steve was of the Baptist faith. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Steve was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Jude’s or any other charity of your choice. I’m free at last. Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. I found that peace at the close of the day.
