Obituary of Antonio J Caruso

Antonio J. (Tony) Caruso, 99, of 165 Aldren Avenue, Jamestown, NY, formerly 1 Elm Street, passed away at home on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was the husband of the late Lottie E. Dudzic Caruso who he met while attending the University of Buffalo. They were married July 23, 1949 and she died August 2, 2010. Antonio was born on December 12, 1923 at home on 64 Tower Street, Jamestown, NY the son of the late Ralph A. Caruso and Adeline Randazzo Caruso. He had a brother, the late Michael Caruso. Antonio served in the United States Army 97th Division, receiving a medical discharge. He then attended the University of Buffalo, Pre-Med. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 32 years at Blackstone Corporation, Allen Street, Jamestown, NY as the Manager of the Appliance Division. During his retirement he was employed at Office Max being one of the original employees. He was a devoted husband and father putting his family first. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and was a Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan, his favorite team. He and Lottie were one of the early volunteers for the St. Susan Food Kitchen at St. James School. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Michael (Sharon) Caruso of Bemus Point, NY, Adeline (Bruce) Brill of Lutz, FL, Ralph (Brenda) Caruso of Cumming, GA, Antoinette Caruso of Jamestown, NY and Joseph (Debbie) Caruso of Falconer, NY. ; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Gabriella) Caruso, Amanda (Drew) Erlandson, Jared (Wendy) Caruso, Kevin (Dormel) Brill, Robert (Elizabeth) Brill, Amy Caruso, Lori Caruso, Kari Abramson, Chelsea (Brett) Lanphere, and Brandon (Jennie) Caruso.; 9 great grandchildren, Cambria Fiorella, Presley Caruso, Frazier Caruso, Owen Erlandson, Finn Erlandson, Dakota Brill, Colton Brill, Luke Brill and Emerson Lanphere. Antonio was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, NY. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Cygan will officiate. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Church, 27 Allen Street or the Falconer Public Library, 101 W. Main Street, Falconer, NY 14733.
