William R Gertsch (71), of Falconer, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 4, 2023 at home. Bill was born January, 13, 1952 in Olean, NY to Warren Gertsch and Viola (Gimlin) Gertsch. He graduated from Southwestern Central School Class of 1970.. He married Connie Pearson Robertson in 1994 in Gerry, NY. Bill is survived by two daughters Tonya Haight (Jeffery) of Warren PA and Nichole Gertsch of Shalamar, FL. Three stepchildren Jami, Mark, and Ryan, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. One brother Rory Gertsch (Judy) of Anthony, KS, close cousin Tina Ugland (Roy), many other cousins, and his kitty, Nala. Also his lifelong friend Greg Stifler of Erie, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, paternal and maternal grandparents. Bill is a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was employed for many years at Sears Automotive, Maple Bay and Snug Harbor Marina. He enjoyed model building and online gaming No services will be held at this time. Cremation services are being handled by Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home in Jamestown. Donations can be made to your local no kill animal shelter.
