Obituary of Clark H Cowen

Please share a memory of Clark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clark H. Cowen, 78 of Jamestown passed away June 2, 2023 in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born September 9, 1944 in Conewango the son of the late Howard O. Cowen and F. Elizabeth Wiltsie. He was a 1962 graduate of Falconer Central School where he was a member of Future Farmers of America and 4 H Club. Clark was a US Army Vietnam Veteran serving from 1964 -1967. He was proud of his service to his country but little discussion was had other than in recent years when he shared just a little of his involvement in the building of bridges in areas that were needed to get equipment around in Vietnam, Korea, Germany and France. Over the years he worked for the Cowen Family Farm, Crescent Tool Company, Lewis Mason Saw Mill, Flickingers and Bush Industries before he was forced into early retirement for health reasons. Clark was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The Moose Club. He is survived by his children Cindy (Mike) Wilson and Jeff Cowen; grandchildren Kylie, Patrick and Camryn Wilson and Alexis and Diesel Cowen; his brother Warren (Rena) Cowen, sisters Mabel (Dave) Lewis, Pauline (Ken) Weller and Juanita Haase: many nieces and nephews and good friends. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his 1st wife (mother to his children) Joyce Russ Seekins who passed away April 4, 2023. He was always more concerned for others than himself. Always saying not to worry about him, what do we need? Loyal, kind and generous to a fault at times. Clark lived a simple life with little need or want for material things. A man of few words but the expression on his face would let you know what he was thinking and how he felt. He was a man we knew that we could always depend on. He cherished his family and recently we knew how important it was to him for us to spend time together. Unfortunately, Parkinsons and cancer ultimately became too much for his body to overcome and he was taken too soon. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 15th from 3 to 5 at The Barn at Mark Cowen Residence 142 Watkins Rd. Kennedy, NY. A brief service of Remembrance will be at 3 pm followed by a gathering with friends and family to remember and reminisce the memories experienced with Clark over his lifetime. Instead of flowers, please consider a memorial donation be made to: Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care 20 W. Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750 They are truly angels on earth to help and support those in need during very difficult times. Send a condolence by visiting www.hubertfuneralhome.com
