Obituary of Patricia V Raffa

Patricia Raffa, 88 of Salamanca Formally of Jamestown passed away on January 4, 2019 at Olean Pines Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 2, 1930 in Jamestown, New York To Andrew and Mary Ludwiczak. Patricia married Sebastian "Busty" Raffa Jr. on June 29, 1957. Later in life Patricia followed her passion and went back to school to earn her nursing degree. She worked for Warren State Hospital. Later she worked as the nursing supervisor on 3-C at WCA Hospital. She also worked at County Health and Heritage Village. She was very involved with her Church. Patricia participated in the Esther Circle and Labor of Love. Following a stroke in 2016 Patricia defied the odds and regained the use of her hand and loom knitted over 200 hats that she donated to area hospitals and organizations. Patricia and her husband served as foster parents for many area children over the years. Patricia is Survived by her daughters, Barbara Angus (John deceased) and Theresa Yaw (Charles), her grandchildren, Matthew Moran (Melinda), Jason Yaw, her Step granddaughter, Kristan Reynolds, great grandchildren, James Moran, John Moran, Andi Moran, and Zane Moran, her Step great grandchildren, Joshua Reynolds, Michael Wooster, and Alex Wooster, her niece Joyce Motty, her cousins, Esther Crowell and Marty Pavlock, as well as several nieces, nephews, in laws, and her pets Holly and Jazzie her fur babies. Patricia is preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband Sebastian Raffa in 2012, her infant daughter Elizabeth, her brother, Steven Ludwiczak, her sister, Leona Motty, and son in law, John Angus. A special thank you to all the people who helped Mom over the last two years to live a fulfilling life at home especially Brandi Gates. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Religious service will be held Tuesday 11am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 845 Forest Ave, Jamestown, NY followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
