Sam Anthony Pollino (90 years of age) of Jamestown, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 while a resident at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. Sam has been a life-long resident of Jamestown since his birth on June 15, 1928; son of Joseph and Julia Fera Pollino. Sam is survived by his beloved bride of 68 years, Sarah "Sally" (Bellitto) Pollino, currently residing at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing, his devoted son, Sam (Terri) of Corona, California and his cherished daughter, Julie (Joe) Indriolo, of Las Vegas, Nevada. His pride and joy were his grandchildren by age: Amy (Robert) Adamiszyn, Katie (Anthony) Camblin, Lori Indriolo all of Las Vegas, Nevada and Samantha Pollino, Nicolas Pollino of Corona, California. Great- grandson, Zachary Adamiszyn, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also survived by his brother Joseph (Marilyn) Pollino and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his sister, Gloria, and brothers, Angelo, Frank, Guy, John, and Richard. Sam was employed by MRC SKF for 41 years and retired in 1991. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a communicate of St. James Catholic Church. His military accomplishments included being a veteran of the Korean War whereby he served from 1951 to 1952 with an honorable discharge as Corporal. Sam enjoyed a lifelong membership with VFW Post 53 & American Vets Post 726. Additionally, he spent time enjoying clubs such as: Falconer American Legion, War Vets, Moose, Eagles, and Lakewood Rod & Gun. Active Boy's Club member from 1939 to 2000, and then YMCA. All who knew Sam appreciated his love of God, family, Pinochle, Texas Holdem, and socializing with friends and family. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 - 2-5 p.m. at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 111 S Main Street, Jamestown, New York. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 – 1:00 p.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 27 Allen St, Jamestown, New York. The Pollino, Bellitto, and Indriolo family extends our greatest appreciation to all the staff at Heritage Green and the compassionate care nurses and support staff with Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
