Obituary of Margaret M Torres

Margaret M. Milioto Torres "our sunshine" passed away, Sunday, September 9th, 2018 at 2pm surrounded by her family and dear friend Louise Ciancio. Margaret loved her children and grandchildren "more than all the houses in the world". Margaret attended Jamestown Business College. She was proud to have been the first Italian hired at the Telephone Company in Jamestown, NY upon her graduation from JBC. She also worked at the cable company and as the parish secretary at St. James R.C. church for twenty years. In her younger years Margaret enjoyed cooking and baking more than anything. She was well known for her Italian cookies. She fondly remembered trips to Detroit and Puerto Rico to visit family, which was her treasure. In recent years she enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her friends Dave, Bob and Donna. She loved reminiscing about the "ole days on Water Street with her family and friends" and visiting with her children and grandchildren as often as possible. We will remember our mother and grandmother as a very strong woman who loved always, forgave often, and taught us faith in the unseen. She is survived by three children: Millie A.Torres-Ruiz (Nelson), Rosemarie L. Torres, John E. Torres (Bonnie) and nine grandchildren: Lindsey M. Torres, Julia K. Torres, Emma M. Schnars, Andrew T. Johnson, Olivia L. Ruiz, Anna Mae Torres-Carvella, John E. Torres, Jr., Lucas J. Torres-Carvella, and Logan M. Torres-Carvella. She is also survived by her former husband and life long friend Juan Torres. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward S. Milioto, her mother, Mildred M. Milioto and a son, Samuel Vincent Torres. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services Mass will be Friday 10am at St. Mary of Lourdes R.C.
