Obituary of Charles M. Strand

Charles "Charlie" M. Strand Charlie Strand, 70, of 125 Connecticut Ave. Jamestown passed away on Monday, July 10th, 2017 at Heritage Park of Jamestown after a brief illness. Charlie was born in Jamestown on August 23rd, 1946 to the late Dorothy Sampson and Roy Strand. Charlie was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1964 and of Jamestown Business College in 1968. He was employed for several years at his father's business, Jamestown Unit Parts. Charlie had a great knowledge of antiques, and bought and sold many unique historic items throughout the Northeast, at trade shows and online. Charlie is survived by his cousin Thomas (Cindy) Sampson, and his special "niece" Heather A. Sampson, and by a cousin Holly Abel of upstate NY. He is also survived by close friends Thomas Karapantso and Gerald Haglund. In addition to his parents, Charlie is predeceased by his cousin Elaine (Sampson) Birchman, and several aunts and uncles including Henry Sampson, Helen (Sampson) Ruslink, June (Strand) Abel, and Carl Strand. Charlie will be greatly missed by his "family" on Springdale Ave. We all looked forward to our close gatherings on holidays and special occasions. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Chautauqua Humane Society or Chautauqua Hospice. The Hubert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
