If there was some sort of handbook to follow on how to be a good Uncle, my Uncle Mimms would have to be mentioned as an example to emulate.
Although he had a very pragmatic way of looking at all decisions, his unconditional love and support were always there, even when I went against his advice...like when I bought the sports car, when I went out of state to university, when I decided to train as a chef and open a restaturant, when I decided to move to California...he told me not to do these things, but being a hard headed kid, I did not listen...that's beside the point...which is he loved all of his nephews and nieces as his own kids unconditionally, even if we followed our own path.
I know you will always be around us all Uncle Mimms and on the days when I ask my self, "what would Mimmi Cool do?" I promise to always look at the more logical side before I make up my mind using only my heart.
Rest in Peace Uncle Mimmi and as Nonno would say eveytime I left, "We'll see you on the other side."

Dom you were my friend for 60 years, We met at my Aunt Sally Millonzis's
home, you were right off the boat, getting ready to go to school with your nickers and those big sad eyes. I told my Mom that you would be so teased at school and to give you a pair of my pants. From that on it was friends, boys club where you worked for years. We went in pool with Tony lavoy, camping with camp fires. Than came Tony Parinella to make a three some,Tony and I played basketball and you did Gymnastics. You said you did not like b-ball but fact was you threw like a girl at the time ha!
Than on to High School The three Musketeers! We found sports, and girls. We joined the actors club, 3 guys and 30 girls. Our English teacher was the head of actors,he talked us into it. Every Sunday night in High School we went to the movies in those great theaters. Of course you had to smoke.Smokers balcony, people below us, Someone dropped something on a lady's hat that caught on fire. We got blamed and thrown out. We were suppose to pay for the hat,but thankfully it did not happen.
Graduation,we were suppose to sign up together go into Air Force. I do not remember agreeing to that but of course you did. It was always like that you always had advice for Tony and I ha!
When I think of you it always come done to love in our friendship. Love never fails and you never failed me.
Peace be with you. I know you and Tony are catching up.
