Gary L. West Sr, 78, went home to the Lord on July 4, 2026. He was born on December 29, 1947 in Montoya Falls, NY. Son of the late Mervin and Luella West, Gary was baptized at Healing Word Ministries.

Gary was truly one of a kind and one of the hardest workers known to mankind. He was an ironworker at Jamestown Iron Works for well over 40 years. He was well known for his love of country music and played with several bands over the years.

Gary loved to fish and hunt and go to pawn shops. In earlier days he loved Vans Texas Hots on North Main Street in Jamestown, NY, he also lived his life helping so many people in need.

Surviving are his children Carrie, Mary, Autumn, Skip and Norma, his 5 step children and Matt Brown a child he raised.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, adopted son, and two grand children.

Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.

A burial will take place at LakeView Cemetery.
