Maurice Akins, 54 of Jamestown passed away on March 29, 2026. He was born on December 2, 1971, in Newark New Jersey to Cornelius Haynes and Eloise Akins.

Maurice was a great and loving person. He was a loving husband and father. Maurice enjoyed family, food, traveling and football. His favorite team was the New York Jets.

He had a smile that could light up a room. Everyone loved his company. Maurice will forever be missed.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Concetta Nicole Akins, his children, Jude Tuitt, Maurissa Akins, Maurianna Akins, Maurkies Akins, Mauquan Akins, Marcus Akins and Eloise Akins, his siblings, Debra (Jarnett) Akins, Evalyn Akins, James Simpson, Edna (Davis) Akins, Ikasha M Rodwell, Michelle Robinson, Monea Robinson, Micheal Robinson and Oswald D Harvey. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Maurice was preceded in death by his siblings, Eddie Butler, Willie Butler, Joyce Akins, Timothy Akins, Darryl Simpson and Thaeldis Andre Akins.

Visiting will be held on Monday April 13. 2026 from 11Am-1PM at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home 111 S. Main St Jamestown NY 14701.

Burial to follow at Lake View Cemetery Jamestown NY.
