Shane Messere Obituary

Shane M. Messere, 48 passed away on January 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Jamestown, NY, he was born on September 8, 1977, to the late Bonnie Cardone Travis.

Shane is survived by his devoted son, Mateo Messere of Jacksonville, Fl, and his other children, Austin Messere, Tristan Messere and Montanna Messere all of Jamestown, NY, his grandchildren, Layla, Hartley and Miles, his siblings, Aimee (Thomas) Mattson and Gregory Messere. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Known for his humor and outrageous storytelling, Shane cherished time spent with his family and friends. He found joy in collecting small treasures and trinkets. He especially loved visiting the beach, a place that always brought him peace and comfort. Shane will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His humor, wit and carefree spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held January 24, 2026, 2-5pm at Zion Lutheran Church 45 Falconer St Frewsburg, NY to remember Shane’s lighthearted spirit. In lieu of flowers the family has set up a GoFundMe donation page to help fulfill Shane’s wishes.
