David Anthony Galati, 76, currently of Taylorsville, NC, originally from Jamestown, NY, passed away June 7, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1949, to John James and Elaine Stanley Galati in Jamestown, NY. David Graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1967. In 1973 he married Judy (Abbott) Galati. David is survived by his wife Judy, his sons Jeffrey (Lydia), and John, and 2 sisters, Joan (Joe) Miktuk, and Judy (Brian) Newberg. Also, Grand Daughter Maddison (Gavin) Galati, and Great Grandchildren Kinsley and Greyson. David also has 2 Step Grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Lusk, and Natasha Williams, and 5 Step Great Grandchildren, Marissa, Dylan, Colton, Keegan, and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elaine, an infant sister Muriel Elaine (Newport News, VA), and sister Lori Galati Bova all of Jamestown. In May of 2024, David and Judy moved to Statesville, NC to be closer to their sons.

David was a longtime Snack Foods Salesman for his father John, Jamestown Food Specialties, Troyer Farms Snack Products, Arthur R Gren Distributing, and his own Galati Snack Foods. He loved camping throughout life with Judy and his sons, and eventually an extended family at Stateline Speedway. He also loved going to Stateline watching everyone from his son John to the younger kids that grew up around the neighborhood racing stock cars around the track. He also loved watching the NASCAR Truck Series races which both his sons have worked in both at the track and in the shops. In his younger days, David was a lifelong member of the Busti (NY) Fire Department, Busti Men’s Association, and the Allen Park Men’s Club.

A Memorial Service will be held at Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home in Jamestown, NY on Friday, July 18, from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America www.alzfdn.org
