Please share a memory of Tammy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tammy L. Abbott ,60, of Jamestown, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, after a short illness at Heritage Park Skilled Living Facility. Tammy was born to Earl Wayne and Rose Ann (Palmer) Abbott on April 3, 1965, in Jamestown, New York, growing up in her family home in Busti, NY with her parents and three sisters. She attended Southwestern Central School system, graduating from Chautauqua County BOCES program. During her school career, she participated in several events at the Special Olympics for many years. In her younger years, Tammy loved going out for Friday night fish fry with her Mom and Dad, where she could shoot pool and eat grilled cheese sandwiches, because she didn't like fish. She became a pretty sharp pool player. Besides playing pool, Tammy loved to go to Stateline Speedway on Saturday nights with her sister, Carol, to root for the local stock car drivers, including their nephew, JJ. She also loved NASCAR, cheering for her favorite drivers (especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) on Sundays. Even making bets with her Uncle Walter on who would win. Attending hockey, soccer and baseball games, along with ATV races, with her Uncle Walter, Aunt Betty, their children and grandchildren, also became regular fun outings for Tammy. Abbott family get- togethers were especially loved by her because she could ride along on ATVs and golf carts with some of her many cousins. Tammy is survived by a sister, Judy Galati (David), of Taylorsville, NC; two nephews, Jeff Galati (Lydia) and John "JJ" Galati, all of Mooresville, NC; one niece, Jennifer Sherry, of PA, one great niece, Maddie Galati (Gavin), a great great niece, Kinsley Galati, and a great great nephew, Greyson Galati, all of Jamestown, NY. Also surviving are Tammy's aunt and uncle, Betty and Walter Abbott, their three daughters, Janis Phillips (Steve), Joyce Rothleder (Ron), and Jayne Abbott (Jeff); along with their 11 grandchildren, their spouses, and 9 great grandchildren. Tammy is also survived by many Abbott cousins that reside in the Sugar Grove, PA area, along with some in Jamestown. Tammy was much loved by the entire Abbott family. Preceding in death are Tammy's parents, Earl and Rose Ann, and two sisters, Cindy (Abbott) Sherry, and Carol Abbott, who Tammy lived most of her adult life with, as well as their childhood years. Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi’s Hubert Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to Special Olympics New York. Send a condolence by visiting www.hubertfuneralhome.com
