Richard (Dick) Swanson 68, of Jamestown, NY passed away Friday May 24, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY, after a lengthy illness. A lifelong area resident Dick was born November 22, 1955, at the W.C.A. hospital to Richard and Opal Swanson.

Dick attended Jamestown High School and was a combination truck driver/carpenter. He loved to tell stories about the trips he took and the things he built. He was never shy and enjoyed socializing and meeting new people. You always knew when Dick was about to enter a room and you could always hear him coming before you even saw him.

Dick is survived by his former wife Shirley Swanson, his sister Marylou Johnson, his uncle Carl in Clinton Tennessee and 3 nephews Tony Anzalone, Billy Lindberg, and Patrick (Nancy) Lindberg. he is also survived by several cousins and his best friends Jim Moynihan and Chip Swanson.

Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his precious son Jesse Swanson, his brother in law Louie Anzalone and his very best friend Doug Steed.

As per Dick’s wishes, there will be no visitation, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
